Teacher Policies

Last updated: 26 June 2026

These policies apply to all teachers on Edugo. By registering as a teacher, you agree to follow them in addition to our Terms of Service.

1. Accurate profile

Your name, subject areas, qualifications, and class descriptions must be truthful and kept up to date. Do not misrepresent your credentials, experience, or the content of your classes. Edugo may verify the information you provide and suspend accounts found to be inaccurate.

2. Class quality & conduct

You are responsible for the quality, accuracy, and appropriateness of all content you publish — including class descriptions, study materials, recordings, notices, and quizzes. Content must be suitable for the age group you teach and must not contain anything unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, or sexually explicit. Treat all students with respect.

3. Fees & payments

You set your own class fees. Fees must be communicated clearly to students before enrolment. Tuition payments are made directly between you and your students (bank transfer or cash). Edugo does not process or guarantee these payments. You are responsible for verifying payment receipts uploaded by students before granting them access.

4. Refunds & disputes

Any refund or payment dispute is between you and your student. We encourage fair, transparent refund arrangements — communicate your refund policy clearly to students before they pay. Edugo is not responsible for resolving payment disputes.

5. Student data

You may access student names, phone numbers, and payment receipts for the purpose of managing your classes. You must not use student data for any purpose unrelated to teaching, share it with third parties, or contact students outside the platform for commercial promotion.

6. Intellectual property

You own the content you create and upload. By publishing it on Edugo, you grant us a limited licence to host and display it to enrolled students. Do not upload content you do not own or have the right to share — including copyrighted exam papers or materials from other publishers without permission.

7. Platform subscriptions

Free-tier teachers can create and manage classes within the platform limits. Pro and Pro+ subscriptions unlock additional features and are billed monthly via PayHere. Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

8. Prohibited activities

  • Encouraging students to pay or communicate outside Edugo to avoid platform records.
  • Creating fake enrolments or inflating student counts.
  • Sharing your login credentials with others or accessing another teacher's account.
  • Using the platform for any activity that violates Sri Lankan law.

9. Enforcement

We may issue warnings, temporarily suspend, or permanently close teacher accounts that violate these policies. Serious breaches — such as fraud, abuse, or illegal activity — will result in immediate removal without notice.

10. Changes to these policies

We may update these policies from time to time. Continued use of the platform after an update means you accept the revised policies. If you have questions, contact us via our Contact page.
