Using it
Search by question text or by answer, then add what you want to the quiz you're building. The question is copied in — editing it here doesn't change the original quiz it came from.
That copy behaviour is what you want. Reusing a question in a revision quiz and tightening the wording shouldn't rewrite last term's paper.
Where it earns its keep
Next year's batch. A new quiz for the 2027 batch is mostly last year's questions. Search, add, adjust.
Revision quizzes. Pull the questions students got wrong across a term into one revision set.
Splitting a long quiz. A 40-question paper becomes four 10-question topic quizzes without retyping anything.
Variants. Two quizzes sharing 70% of their questions, for students sitting in the same room.
Making it searchable
The bank is only as useful as your ability to find things in it, and search covers question text and answers.
So write questions that contain their own keywords. Calculate the derivative of sin(x) is findable. Solve this is not — and neither is a question whose whole
content is an image, since there's no text to match.
For image-based questions, put the topic in the question text even when the
diagram carries the question: From the velocity-time graph shown, find the acceleration.
Keeping it clean
The bank grows from every quiz you write, including throwaway ones. A few habits keep it usable at 300 questions:
- Fix mistakes at the source. Spotting a wrong answer key in a bank question means it's wrong in the original quiz too.
- Keep the wording self-contained. A question saying "as we discussed last week" is useless a year later.
- Prefer editing to duplicating. Near-identical questions clutter search results.
On the Free plan
The question bank is a Pro feature. Without it, each quiz's questions are written in place.
If you're on Free and thinking ahead: keep your questions in a document as you write them. Tedious, but it means a term's work isn't locked in one quiz.
