Students and money

Enrolling a student yourself

For students who pay you cash in the hall — find them by phone or QR and enrol them on the spot.

The request-and-receipt flow suits a student paying by bank transfer from home. It's needless friction for the student handing you cash after class.

For them, enrol directly: Students tab → Enroll Student.

Finding the student

Two ways:

By phone number — type their number. This is the usual way.

By QR scan — scan the QR code in their Edugo app. Faster with a queue of students in front of you, and no mistyped numbers.

Either way you get a confirmation showing their name and phone. Check it's the right person before continuing — two students can have similar names, and enrolling the wrong one means unpicking it later.

Recording the payment

Amount — what they actually gave you. It defaults to your class fee; change it if they paid a different amount.

Month — which month this covers. Defaults to the current one. Change it if they're paying late for last month, or early for next.

Payment method — defaults to Cash, which is the usual case here. Bank Deposit and Online Transfer are there for a student who paid that way and can't manage the upload themselves.

Notes (optional) — anything you'd want to remember. Paid in class after the lesson, Rs. 500 short, will settle next week.

Submit, and they're enrolled for that month immediately. No approval step — you are the approval.

The student must have an Edugo account

You can only enrol someone who has already registered. If the search finds nobody, they haven't signed up yet.

Have them register on the spot — it takes a couple of minutes on a phone — then search again. Sending them your personal link is the quickest way to get them to the right place.

Which flow to use

Situation Use
Paid cash in the hall Enroll Student
Bank transfer from home Let them submit a request
Paid you by transfer but can't upload Enroll Student, method = transfer
A queue of students paying at once Enroll Student with QR

Keep your own record

Recording it here credits the month and unlocks content — it's not a receipt, and there's no bank record behind a cash payment.

If you take a lot of cash, keep whatever book or sheet you already use. Edugo tells you who is credited for which month; it can't tell you what's in the drawer.
