Your first 10 minutes

The two setup steps on your dashboard, and why students can't enrol until you finish them.

When you first open your teacher dashboard, a green panel at the top shows two setup steps. They aren't decoration — until both are done, students can't enrol in your classes and pay you.

The panel disappears on its own once both steps are complete.

Step 1 — Add your bank transfer details

Go to Profile and fill in the Bank Transfer Details section: account name, account number, bank and branch.

These details are shown to a student at the moment they enrol in a paid class. They transfer the fee to you, upload the receipt, and you approve it.

Without these details, a student cannot pay you by bank transfer — so a paid class effectively can't take enrolments. Free classes (fee set to 0) work without them.

Money never passes through Edugo. Students pay you directly, and you keep 100% of the fee. See Bank transfer details for what students actually see.

Step 2 — Create your first class

Go to Classes → New Class.

At minimum you need a class name, a subject and a monthly fee. Everything else — schedule, location, description, cover image, tags — can be added later from the class settings, but filling them in now makes your class look far more credible to a student deciding whether to enrol.

Set the fee to 0 if the class is free. You can change the fee later; it applies to future months, not to fees already paid.

What your dashboard shows once you're set up

Four cards across the top:

  • Active Classes — how many classes are currently switched on
  • Total Students — unique students across all your classes, so a student in two of your classes is counted once
  • Pending Requests — enrolment and lesson-pack requests waiting for your approval. This is the number to watch: a student who has paid is waiting for you here.
  • This Month — card payments received this month

Below that, your Upcoming Sessions for the next 7 days, and quick links to the three things new teachers reach for most.

A sensible order for the rest

Once the two steps are done, this order gets you to a class students can actually join:

  1. Add a profile photo and a short description — students trust a face
  2. Claim your personal link so you have something to paste into WhatsApp
  3. Schedule your first few sessions
  4. Upload one or two materials so the class isn't empty on day one
  5. Request the Verified badge — review takes a few days, so start it early

None of these are required to take your first enrolment. They just make it far more likely.
